"Uber drivers" for offshore wind

Offshore wind has the potential to create tens of thousands of new American jobs and an entirely new U.S. supply chain. In fact, 74 different occupations are needed to build an offshore wind farm, according to the Workforce Development Institute. Some of these jobs might surprise you, like this “Uber driver” for the Block Island Wind Farm. Atlantic Wind Transfers built the first U.S. crew transfer vessel to ferry maintenance workers to the wind farm from a local port. This is just a preview of the opportunities as the offshore wind grows up and down the East Coast.Video produced by Deep Time Media for the E2 1 Hotels Fellowship.Special thanks to Atlantic Wind Transfers and the crew of the Atlantic Pioneer http://www.atlanticwindtransfers.com/.
