RV Ahilan, LOC’s CEO, is giving a technical presentation on the 13th June at IMarEST HQ on Fixed and/vs Floating Wind Energy: Prospects and Challenges.

Time: 17:30 – 18:30 BST

Date: Thursday 13 June 2019

Address: IMarEST HQ, 1 Birdcage Walk, London SW1H 9JJ, UK

About the talk

Offshore wind energy has progressed by leaps and bounds in the last few years. The industry has not only been able to make technological advances but also has spectacularly reduced costs. In this presentation, we present the offshore wind energy scene globally and discuss the key landmarks that have got us to this point and then the levers that we have at our disposal to further accelerate the industry’s development. The technological challenges and opportunities will be considered. The tremendous success of fixed offshore wind has provided the confidence to embark upon floating offshore wind energy, which presents opportunities to access much greater real estate in the sea, stronger and cleaner winds and thus greater energy production. Some forecasts in terms of technological developments and cost reductions are also made.
